British intelligence is looking for gays
The British Security Service MI5 wants more gays and lesbians in its ranks. The new recruitment campaign convinces potential officers- homosexuals, it's time to get out of lockdown. After decades of rejecting gays and lesbians as candidates for counterintelligence for fear of blackmail, MI5 is now encouraging them. The agency lures with high wages and the possibility of contributing to its country, e.g.. in the fight against terrorism. Head of the gay rights group “Stonewall” Ben Summerskill evaluates, that British counterintelligence is changing its image from a closed club to one more representative of the community, which it serves. “Stonewall” published a handbook for gay job seekers, in which he views his work in the Security Service as very promising. MI5 has already targeted its recruitment campaigns at women and ethnic minorities. Currently, the British counterintelligence employs approx 3,5 thousand. people, twice as many as in 2001 year.
