The Czechs wanted to extort a Swiss bank… 3,5 billion dollars!
Czech police detained a couple of fraudsters, which almost managed to convince a Swiss bank to grant a loan of 3,5 billion dollars. The charge of fraud was brought against a married couple from the town of Pisek in the south of the Czech Republic. 54-a year-old man and his 43-year-old wife tried to extort money on the basis of counterfeit papers allegedly issued by a non-existent financial institution in the United States. However, they aroused suspicions among the bank's employees and the procedures were suspended just before the final agreement was signed. The crime was discovered thanks to the cooperation of the Czech police with the US federal bank and the justice department. The investigation in this case has been conducted from the middle 2006 year. After the interrogation, the fraudsters were released from custody. They translated, that they needed money to set up… international airlines.
