He finished his studies at the age of 87 Years
It took a while, but Mr. Harada has finally made his greatest dream come true and in age 87 years he graduated in economics. He is most likely the oldest recent graduate in Japan. Mr. Harada worked in construction for several decades. At the age of 76 years he retired and began to study, first by yourself, and then at the university. The crowning achievement of these efforts is a master's thesis, dedicated to distribution problems.
When Mr. Harada decided to go to college, he announced to his grandchildren, that they can't anymore, so far, count on his financial support. The family showed maximum understanding, and the grandchildren even equipped the grandfather with new clothes, footwear and a bag for textbooks.
The 87-year-old's chances of working full-time in Japan are slim. Mr. Harada knows this, so he decided, that he will continue to deepen his knowledge.
