Indie: found over 100 dinosaur eggs
The team of paleontologists found over 100 fossilized dinosaur eggs from the Cretaceous period in the state of Madhya Pardesh in central India – informs the log “Hindustan Times”.
The discovery was made 150 km from the city of Indaur already in December, but paleontologists hesitated to provide this information, until confirmed, that they are actually dinosaur eggs. “Last week, geologist Tapas Ganguyly of the University of Haurus confirmed the properties of the fossils” – said Vishal Verma, a palaeontologist from the Mangal Panchayatan Parishad organization, dealing with the study of the region.
“All eggs were found in one breeding ground. There was in every nest 6-8 oh” – added Verma.
The Cretaceous period is in the years before 144 do 65 million years and is considered the last phase of the existence of dinosaurs.
According to scientists, the eggs found may belong to three types of dinosaurs from the sauropod infraorder, giant herbivores reaching length 12-25 meters.
