Grandma cyborg! Ma 100 years and takes part in the championship
Physical fitness and the joy of life can only be envied. Looking at her, I don't want to believe, that it has so much “spring” on my back. This lady is now history. She survived two world wars, 18 US presidents and has 18 grandchildren. This year it is celebrating 100 Years. She is sitting confined to the bed, in a retirement home, rides a wheelchair? NO! You can meet her at… bowling competitions. This competition is the US Women's Championship, taking place in Reno. There is no age limit, so Emma Hendrickson (vintage 1909!) proceeded to play, like every year. Thus, she became the oldest woman, who appeared in this tournament. She broke the record of a certain Ethel Brunnick, which during the championship in 1987 year she was 99 Years. The nice Mrs. Hendrickson is doing great: she was still joking, quickly becoming the favorite of all participants. It caused a sensation, whenever reminded, how old.
My grandmother's secret is this, that she's still moving: whether it is about walks, or about bowling, in which, as far as I remember, has been playing since forever – Cindy Romaine said, granddaughter of the oldest competitor of the championship.
It is true that the old lady is already complaining about her eyesight and can no longer support her team as usual, but still plays regularly, twice weekly. It reaches an average of after 120 points (for those who know bowling – that's a good result?), however, even her relatives were surprised, that she showed up at this tournament. This is the end of her performance? NO – has already registered for next year's event, to be held in El Paso, Texas. They will be 51. next championships, in which it will occur.
