Gods summoned as witnesses in the trial
Annoyed with the lack of progress on the going from 20 years of the process, concerning the determination of ownership, an Indian judge formally summoned two gods from the Hindu pantheon as witnesses. According to the BBC News website, judge Sunil Kumar Singh of Dhanbad, Jharkhand, East India, from 1987 year, he was unable to resolve the outrageous dispute in the city, regarding land ownership, on which a Hindu temple was built. The chief priest applied for property rights, but the townspeople argued against it, that the land belongs to two gods – Rama and his faithful servant Hanuman. Despite repeated court calls and press announcements, the gods did not attend the trial, however. The judge postponed the ruling in the case once again.
