The Japanese government would like to put an end to overtime. Excess work is the source of many problems. One of them is death from overwork. According to official data, w 2005 a year of overwork was the cause of death 157 people.
Too much work can also cause depression and lead to suicide. In Japan, life takes more than 30 thousands of people. More than half are middle-aged men, that is, at the best working age.
It follows from governmental analyzes, that overwork is also the reason for the decline in the birth rate. Half of the Japanese come back from work after eight in the evening. So men do not have time to participate in family life and raising children. The number of births is falling, and society is aging very quickly.
