A popular computer game can solve the problem of childhood obesity. The American state of West Virginia is planning to introduce an innovative method of losing weight. The idea of the authorities is perverse – since children sit in front of computers so much, that they are getting fat, it is computers that can help fight overweight. It is about a dance game known in Europe as Dancing Stage. To play, you need to connect the computer to a special floor platform with several sensors. The participant sees arrows appearing on the screen and, following them to the rhythm of the music, sets the feet on the sensors.
American scientists say, that efficiency is ensured by three hours of electronic dance a week. In addition, children are much more likely to move around in the presence of a computer, because ordinary physical education lessons are considered completely unfashionable by American students.
West Virginia is developing a new method, because there, among all US states, the problem with childhood obesity is the greatest.
