She lost her job, because she was using Facebook during her illness
She said, that he is suffering from migraine, he cannot work on the computer and must lie in a darkened room. And then she entered her profile on Facebook. And she was fired from work. We have lost our trust in her – the employer stated. Woman, whose name has not been disclosed, she worked in the Swiss insurance company Nationale Suisse. Due to illness, she took a leave of absence. She was not supposed to use the computer, but the employer noticed, that she was using the popular social networking site. And he considered this reason enough for dismissal. – Abuse of trust, more than her Facebook activity, led to termination of employment – the employer wrote in the issued statement. The dismissed woman defends herself, saying, that she was lying in bed and had access to the Internet only through an iPhone. At the same time, she accuses Nationale Suisse of spying on her and other employees. Argues, that the company has created a fictional one “friend”, who monitored her private activities on the Internet. Her suspicion was aroused by her sudden disappearance “friend” upon dismissal – she told the journal “20 minutes”. But Nationale Suisse dismisses these accusations. And he claims, that the company was guided by a simple principle: if someone has a migraine and is able to use Facebook, it might as well work on a computer.
This is not the first time, when the use of a social networking site led to the dismissal of an employee. In March, Kimberley Swann from Great Britain was loud, who was released, because she wrote on Facebook, office work is boring.
