The case of the holy cow in parliament

The British Parliament heard a complaint from one of the MPs against the euthanasia of the old cow by the veterinary service. It's not about any random cow, but the saint and the matter is to be clarified by the minister of agriculture. The complaint concerns a 13-year-old cow named Gangotri from the Hindu temple of Hare Krishna Hare Krishna in Watford near London. Every child knows, that the cow is a sacred animal in Hinduism and must not be harmed, much less to kill. The temple runs a shelter for old cows, who live their days there, until natural death. Meanwhile, The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals received information about the poor condition of the animal and intervened. Priests and the congregation argue, that one of the Society's veterinarians, escorted by the police, had deceitfully killed the Gangotri, while two others were talking about her treatment. The priests take care, that putting the cow to sleep was sacrilege and would inflame the relations of the authorities with the entire Hindu community in Great Britain.

Society of translators, that it was driven solely by humanitarian considerations, for it could not reach an agreement with the temple regarding the treatment of the animal.
