Abbot Niccolo dell (ok. 1512—71), Italian painter, representative of the first school of Fontainebleau. He worked in Modena and Bologna; w 1552 he was summoned by Henry II to France. Along with F.. Primatice painted myth-themed murals. in the palace of Fontainebleau (Ballroom, Ulissesa Gallery). He also painted portraits, compositions of rei. in my. (Abduction of Proserpina) and landscapes (A landscape with reapers); designed cardboard boxes for tapestries and patterns of decorative products. He was a representative of mannerism, combining the influences of North-Italian painting. (I correct, Parmigianino, off) and Dutch art.
