How long can flour and groats be stored
Who among us has not found an open bag of groats in a cupboard and did not wonder whether it can still be eaten or not?. Or leftover flour, which got lost somewhere in the depths of the kitchen. So how long are they edible??
If our products have been kept dry, clean place, where the temperature did not exceed 15 degrees, and air humidity 60% nasze produkty są zdatne do spożycia w przypadku gdy od daty ich produkcji nie minął następujący okres czasu: for semolina it is 5 months, for barley, depending on the type: rural and Masurian groats - 9 months, while pearl barley 10, buckwheat - 10 months, and oatmeal - from 4 do 6. The temperature in the apartment is usually higher, therefore the shelf life is shorter than the strictly "book".
We can store light wheat flour 5 months, dark flour 3, and rye 4 months.
Let us remember to follow these rules, because various types of parasites can develop in stale flour or groats, which we certainly would not like to see in our kitchen.
