The deodorant killed him
Daniel hurley, 12-a year old from Great Britain, died from excessive use of deodorant. One morning he locked himself in the bathroom and did not leave for a long time, therefore his father had to break down the door. He tried to resuscitate the unconscious boy, and when he failed, called an ambulance. After a 5-day stay in the Intensive Care Unit at the Royal Medical Center in Nottingham, a teenager, unfortunately, He died. During the trial in court, specialists stated, that Daniel had sprayed too much deodorant in a closed room. Inhaled solvents from the cosmetic caused arrhythmia. Dr Andrew Hitchcock, pathologist consultant, who conducted an autopsy, testified, that no life-threatening disease or addiction was identified. Local coroner Dr. Robert Hunter emphasizes, that the manufacturer cannot be blamed for the accident, because it clearly says on the package of deodorant, not to use it in large quantities in unventilated rooms.
Father of the deceased, Robert, underlines, that his son was proud of his looks and always used a lot of deodorant (he also sprayed it on clothes) and hair gel. Unfortunately, it ended tragically for him…
