Meat in our menu was already present in the times of the oldest ancestors and it is still so today. Unfortunately, more and more often it is the basis of our diet, not just an add-on.
Meat is healthy and necessary for the proper development and functioning of the human body, however, if consumed in limited amounts it means, that more often than not 3 times a week.
It is the best source of wholesome protein. It provides us with all the essential amino acids, which are later used to build our own body proteins, e.g.. digestive enzymes or antibodies responsible for the body's immunity. It is also an excellent source of iron, the opening necessary for the proper course of the blood process.
Unfortunately, apart from these undoubted advantages, meat also has a lot of downsides. The first and most significant is the enormous amount of saturated fatty acids. Their excess in our diet leads to an increase in blood cholesterol levels, the consequence is atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction or stroke. Additionally, frying is our favorite meat preparation. This significantly increases its calorific value and at the same time increases the content of harmful lipids.
