They got a gigantic bill and called the police
Eight Japanese tourists in Pisa called the police to the restaurant after receiving a gigantic bill for a modest dinner – Italian media reported. After the officers intervened, the waiter billed the foreigners half the amount. In the restaurant, near the famous Square of Miracles, The Japanese ordered 8 portions of pasta, three beers, four sodas and a cup of tea. They were ordered to pay for everything 260 euro. Because such a sum for a one-course meal seemed much excessive to them, they prudently called the policemen, to whom they showed the bill. The restaurant owner explained to the patrol, that there had been a mistake and in the presence of the officers he issued a new invoice for the sum 134 euro. The Japanese paid this amount without hesitation. Pisa police are investigating further, because there is a suspicion, that not only in this place, but also in other restaurants in Pisa, foreigners are repeatedly deceived in a similar way.
