The mishap of the filmmakers or the overzealous police? Shooting a realistic hostage-kidnapping scene for an action movie ended with the most real police action, summoned by ignorant observers. The mishap of Australian filmmakers could lead them to jail. Melbourne city police proved it, that he takes every report very seriously. The policemen reacted immediately to the witness's report, who claimed, that someone had taken hostages next to his house. Officers arrived at the scene, saw a man pointing a pistol at another person. A special blockade around it was created immediately “kidnappings”. All of this would be justified, if there was no kidnapping… a recorded scene for an action movie! The filmmakers paid a lot of attention to realism. Shooting the scene looked so realistic, that the inhabitants of the neighboring houses were convinced, that they are dealing with a real crime. When the filmmakers figured out, that they are surrounded by the police, pictures were interrupted. Officers searched the entire team, they found the script of the film and artificial weapons.
Turned out, that no one informed the police about the shooting of the spectacular scene. Four people from the film crew were arrested, they have been charged.
