The oldest eye in the world
Bernt Aune is eighty years old, but his right cornea is o 43 years older than himself. It is the oldest eye in Norway, and maybe in the world – the old man boasts. How it's possible? W 1958 year, the former ambulance driver underwent surgery, during which he was transplanted from the cornea of a donor born in June 1885 year. How not to count, so it has been in use for over 123 Years! Dr. Hasan Hasanain z Namsos Hospital, hospital, in which the surgery was carried out exactly half a century ago, suspects, that Mr. Aune's cornea is the oldest living organ in the world. In years 50. was judged, that the outer membrane of the eyeball will work no longer than by 5 Years. She surprised everyone and although the elderly Norwegian may not see the best, still working, and I don't think she has said her last word yet…
