A monument in honor of the shoe was unveiled, thrown at Bush

Throwing shoes on US President George W.. Bush by an Iraqi journalist inspires artists. A shoe monument has been officially unveiled in Tikrica, northern Iraq. But, the size of a medium-sized couch, made of copper and fiberglass. its creator, Baghdad artist Latih al-Amari, described his work as a tribute to the pride of the Iraqis. There is a poem on the pedestal commemorating the journalist Muntadar al-Zeidi, who threw his shoes at Bush last December at a press conference. Throwing, the Iraqi shouted in Arabic: “You have, dog, goodbye”, so he is considered a hero in parts of the Arab world. Since then, the journalist has been in custody, awaiting trial, which was supposed to start at the end of December, but was postponed, for there was a dispute over the classification of the act.
