He lost weight over 60 Kg, to join the army
You need to lose weight – this sentence stuck in the memory of the 23-year-old volunteer. Milana's Ulysses weighs slightly less than Manuel Uribe, the fattest man in the world. But 150 kg of weight is still too much, that the recruitment commission would admit the 23-year-old to the ranks of the marines. The boy, however, did not give up so easily. Since December 2007 year thanks to regular exercise and changing eating habits, he managed to lose until 63,5 Kg! Of course, he also had to say goodbye to his beer after work. 23-the year-old ensures, that he didn't even drink a drop at his farewell party on Saturday before going to the recruiting camp. Milana dreamed of joining the army since he was a child. In this way, he wanted to continue the family military traditions. His wife, Latoya also comes from a family of soldiers. Thanks to her motivation and help (Latoya is a nurse) changed the diet to a less caloric. – It was really hard for him at first. He always said, that he would lose weight. But I never took it seriously – says Latoya in an interview with the daily ”Sun Journal”. But she had to believe it, when the husband actually started to lose weight. The soldiers of the marines also helped. Together with Ulysses, they developed a set of weight loss exercises. – You can sit and preach, but if you don't want to help, you will not be successful – translates Sergeant George Monteith. – If I say: ”Go lose weight and see you next year”, what help did I offer to achieve my goal? – he asks rhetorically.
For Ulysses, former cook school student, already giving up your favorite dishes, such as pizza, whether the chicken wings were a big challenge. But the hardest part was saying goodbye to a cold beer after work. – It was really hard. You see your buddies drinking beer and you'd like to too – he says. Yet Ulysses' determination was so great, that he did not stray from the path he had chosen once. congratulations!
