Related to Mona Lisa and St.. Stanisław
An Italian genealogist found two young women in Tuscany, whose ancestor was the famous Mona Lisa. However, during their visit to Paris, the Louvre management refused to allow a photograph to be taken in front of a portrait of a distant relative. Irina and Natalia Strozzi, belonging to an aristocratic Tuscan family, they came to Paris at the invitation of the newspaper “Le Figaro”.
It happened thanks to the research of the Italian, Domenico Savini, who came to a conclusion based on the family archives, that they are relatives of Lisa del Giocondo, called Mona Lisa or Gioconda. The portrait of Mona Lisa was commissioned from Leonardo da Vinci by her husband Francesco di Bartolomeo del Giocondo.
Young Italian women were delighted with this, that they could see the portrait of their great-great-grandmother with their own eyes. However, they were treated by the management of the Louvre as ordinary tourists and were not allowed to be photographed by the famous painting.
Irina and Natalia revealed to journalists “Le Figaro” one more family secret – they are also related to Saint Stanisław Kostka.
