An average of three strikes a day in Italy
An average of three strikes a day have taken place in Italy over the past year and a half. Overall from 1 January 2005 R. by the end of June this year were recorded 1590 industrial action, including one third in transport. This strike statistic was announced by a special independent commission, overseeing the course of protests and compliance with the law by their participants. As highlighted, record holders are employees of all modes of transport – both public transport and civil aviation, primarily the Alitalia line, and railways. Within 18 months, representatives of these industries went on strike 508 times. At that time, Italy had proclaimed a total of over 2600 strikes, but about a thousand of them were canceled at the last minute.
This also happened in the case of the clock announced for Wednesday, nationwide public transport strike, who threatened to paralyze all cities. Unionists, in talks with the government on a new collective agreement, for now, they postponed the protest until Friday.
