On the occasion of the transfer of a bank branch, one of the employees ordered the safe to be scrapped, which was in the old premises. By accident, no one checked whether there was any money in the safe. Of course, were, and quite a lot – 100 thousand. euro! The destruction of the safe was commissioned to a private company. As soon as the bank employees realized what had happened, it was too late. They only found out, that it will not be possible to get the money back. – We did our best. Unfortunately, the company we handed over the safe told us, that it was scrapped abroad – a spokesman for the Postbank said. The management of the company had to come to terms with the loss of money. Then it turned out, that, however, not all is lost. The safe never left Germany, instead, he was sent to the steelworks in Henningsdorf. It was opened there – to the surprise of the steelworkers, bills spilled out of it. The police were immediately notified, which managed to explain the intricate story. The safe with the money was returned to the Postbank.

The company will not hold the responsible employee responsible for the mishap.
