The tapestry is a decorative fabric, which was woven on a special loom. An important element of the tapestry is the addition made of single and metal threads, which were properly gold-plated or silver-plated. Just the more gilded threads there are, this tapestry was of greater value. Such products were called tapestries until the end of the 16th century, while a century later many of them took the name of the tapestry.
When looking at the subject of tapestries, you can often find the name of Wawel tapestries. These are located in the Wawel Royal Castle. They were made at the special order of Zygmunt August. The contractors of the Wawel tapestries were Dutch artists.
Among them, mention can be made of the biblical series, landscape and animal tapestries, as well as heraldic or monogram tapestries. As for the biblical series, here we are dealing with 19 suddenly, which depict images from the Old Testament. The author of the cartons was Michel Cixcie.
