Delete your friends, you will get a hamburger

Social networking sites have been the bread and butter of the world for several years now, and in Poland, basically, only from the premiere of a well-known website for finding school friends. And here and here the popularity of grouping, mutual adding to friends, recommending their profiles and sending virtual roses has grown exponentially along with the constant expansion of the age range of users. Not having an account on any social networking site is almost a sin, and websites like the one mentioned above are favorable, for a few years old to have an account. We are already used to it, that many companies from an industry completely different from IT use social networking sites, to reach your customers. sale, competitions, special actions - it's all on the agenda. Against this background, however, the latest Burger King offer is presented, a well-known American company specializing in serving almost national American dish, i.e. hamburgers. The company offers a free Whooper burger coupon in exchange for… removing ten friends from the Facebook profile. This is the moment of truth for online friendships - says the slogan of "promotion". What's the funniest thing, "Devoted" for a free meal friends appear on the activity list on the site - Ania sacrificed John for a free Whooper and so on… Unfortunately, by deleting all friends from the list, you cannot survive the entire week without leaving the Burger King restaurant - the promotion is limited to one coupon per account.

As can be seen on the official website of the action, has already been dedicated to over 50 thousands of friends. Unfortunately, the promotion is limited to US users only. Every trend has to reverse sometime, as we found out during the economic crisis. Quite possible, that social networking sites will also feel it soon. Having several accounts on various websites, I can see among my friends, that if it used to be fashionable to have such an account, so now it's fashionable not to have it (and even publicly demonstrated removal). The effect of the social boom may, therefore, soon result in a hiccup for the owners of the most popular network portals - even more so, the less consciously and slower they adjust their offer to the changing needs of users. The Burger King promotion is just one, but a significant example, that internet integration is probably already too much for some… Unlike hamburgers 😉
