Swine right to shower
Firstly, pigs must have access to a shower. Secondly, budgerigars and hamsters may not be kept alone. These are just some of the provisions of the new animal protection law, which 1 September entered into force in Switzerland. The regulations apply to domestic animals, for breeding and medical experiments. As reported by the AFP agency, goldfish cannot be disposed of anymore, throwing them into the toilet. Anglers were also forbidden to catch and release the caught fish. Not only hamsters and parrots cannot feel the hardships of living alone. The same notation also covers alpacas, goats or sheep, who must be guaranteed at least visual contact with other animals. Dog owners are required to attend a special course, how to raise a pet, to reduce the risk of being bitten. Ear and tail clipping are now a thing of the past in Switzerland.
