Private Ryan - Review
Steven Spielberg's work is very realistic. The picture shows the war, her brutality, and above all, people fighting for humanity in these difficult conditions. However, from the fictional side, or acting, top notch movie is not. Although Tom Hanks and Matt Damon did really well - the soul of the whole show (especially the former). But it is Private Ryan that emphasizes to this degree, at the very essence of the war, that apart from that, production does not have much to offer us anymore. Conqueror 5 The Oscars, including for Janusz Kamiński, compulsory reading.

Soldiers launch an attack on Omaha beaches. The first scene is strong enough, to consider what the point of war at all is. Americans are dying one by one, however, they manage to take over the territory. The background of the plot is Operation Overlord - the largest sea-landing operation in the history of the world. After a successful action, Captain John Miller (Tom Hanks) I am given a job. He's to find Private James Francis Ryan. All of the soldier's brothers - and there were three of them - died in battle. The command of the American army does not want to admit it, that the mother would receive the news of the death of the fourth son. The mission won't be easy, the allied forces are scattered, and the enemy lurks at every turn.
The film will be accompanied by great photos of Janusz Kamiński. Close-up shots - "handheld", plus elaborate special effects. It gives a colossal impression. The viewer, is not laughing for a moment. The movie is kept in flood, we are at the front and people are dying here. Unfortunately, Spielberg did not manage to maintain this atmosphere flawlessly. Scene in which a soldier learns about the death of his brothers, disturbs the order. This happens twice, Everything is fine with Matt Damon. While, when there is an episodic character in a similar situation, her behavior, cry, they are so unnatural, that not tasty, not to say funny.
In "Saving Private Ryan" we have the opportunity to remind ourselves of American values. There will also be pathos. Some people digest such things well, for others it is a little worse. I personally do not enjoy such a thing. Fortunately, Steven Spielberg didn't overdo it. The movie will not be one of my favorites. Sam is not a big fan of war movies. However, I am thinking, worth watching, I really give food for thought.
I'm in charge of Saving Private Ryan 8 1st in the epic category for the best American movies of all time.
