Amen

Amen

Why do we say "amen” after praying? There is faith, that loud, strongly „amen” spoken in chorus by prayers, it opens the gates of paradise.

Amen is a sign of consent, affirmations, approvals, as the book of Deuteronomy says:

And all the people will say: „Amen”.

(Fri 27,17)*

Macbeth, which more than anyone needed it, that the gates of paradise may be opened to him, he said:

I needed mercy a lot,
And yet the amen died in my mouth.

(Shakespeare, Macbeth, akt 2, sc. 2, translation by Józef Paszkowski)
