“Dragon” promotion of a book about nudists: admission only without clothes
An unusual form of promotion was chosen by the publisher of the latest book about nudists in the GDR. Read excerpts from the book… a model, and admission to the party was reserved only for naked people. Before the fall of the Berlin Wall, the naturist movement was thriving in eastern Germany. Thomas Kupfermann's recently published book tells the story “Sommer, Sonne, Nackedeis” (Lato, sun, golasy). The author used photos and memories of nudists in her work “those times”. “Dragon” book was to be promoted 1 April in a bookstore in the city of Pasewalk in north-eastern Germany. To ensure the privacy of meeting participants, the owner of the bookshop, Helmut Maass, promised to tightly cover the shop windows. At the same time, he assured, that the rooms are well heated and certainly none of the listeners will get cold. However, he advised warm clothes on the way to the bookstore, because of the spring cold in Germany. Is it “naga” the promotion testified to the resurgence of the naturist movement in Germany? We are reminding, that a German travel agency is planning to organize special plane trips for nudists this summer.
