The development of forensic techniques prevents even the perpetrators of minor crimes from years ago. The policemen from Piekary Śląskie captured the man, which 15 years ago he broke into the basement and stole tools and compotes of value present 10 PLN. Now the 30-year-old is a respected businessman. The perpetrator of the theft was extremely surprised by the summons to the command. He voluntarily submitted himself to punishment – he was given a fine in the amount of 1 thousand. PLN.

In March 1992 R. officers investigated a break-in into the basement, from which an unknown perpetrator took tools and compotes.

Various traces of the crime were secured on the spot, including. in. fingerprint prints. The losses of the basement owner were then estimated, before denomination, on 100 thousand. PLN.

Because the actions taken in the case did not lead to the capture of the thief, the investigation was discontinued.

There has been significant progress in the field of forensic research since then. This month, analyzing the proceedings discontinued in the past, the officers decided to check the secured fingerprints in the AFIS system.

With it, you can quickly determine, whether fingerprints found at crime scenes or fingerprints taken by officers in any police unit in the country are already in the police system.

Turned out, that the burglar's fingerprints belong to Dariusz G., 30-a summer resident of Piekary Śląskie, who in the past was detained for theft and stolen goods.

Currently, the man runs his own business. In view of the evidence presented to him, he admitted burglary and applied for voluntary submission to punishment.
