He went bankrupt, so he started robbing banks
a Spanish contractor, which has gone bankrupt, falling victim to the financial crisis, “changed the industry” and started robbing banks. After a few successful jumps, however, his leg should have shrunk – according to the Spanish media. In four successful bank robberies in the northern provinces of Lerida and Huesca, a 52-year-old bankruptcy was stolen 80 thousand euros. But when he tried his luck for the fifth time, fell into the hands of the police. The man testified, that he used the money from the robberies to pay off his debts. In the face of the crisis, he saw no other option to obtain the necessary funds. His construction company, profitable until a few months ago, went bankrupt, because many principals were delaying their payments, and the banks refused to grant the loan. The attacks were inspired by a TV series about a Spanish robber caught two years ago “The lonely man”. The entrepreneur tried to exactly imitate his television show “the hero”, robbing banks located off the beaten track and leaving no traces.
“The lonely man” however, it remained an unsurpassed pattern – in five years he robbed as much as 35 banks, stealing in total 600 thousand euros.
