What is a Grammy Award

The Grammy Award is presented annually by the US National Academy of Arts and Techniques for Registration. The Grammy Award is a great musical achievement. The first hand was held in 1959 year.

Graduation ceremonies , took place over the years in different cities: The Angels, New York, Chicago i Nashville, Staples Centre w Los Angeles. Nomination candidates may be submitted by music labels, as well as individuals.

Trophy, that is, the Grammy Award presents a gold-plated turntable. There are four main categories for the award:

1. Rock album

2. Record of the Year

3. Song of the Year

4. Best New Artist

 

W 2014 the year was held 57 Grammy Awards. They became the winners in the basic categories:

  • Rock album “Get Lucky” – Daft Punk & Pharrell Williams
  • Rock album: “Random Access Memories” – Daft Punk
  • Song of the Year: „Royals” – Lorde
  • Best New Artist: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

interesting fact is, that the first Pole, who won such a famous trophy is the pianist Włodek Pawlik. He recorded an excellent album with the trumpeter Randy Brecker and the Kalisz Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Adam Klock. Perhaps this is the beginning of success in the Polish music show business.
