Think about your last meal, and you will not gain weight
Dr. Suzanne Higgs of the University of Birmingham discovered the phenomenon, that people who are slimming will certainly appreciate. Paying attention to the recently eaten meal reduces the desire to reach for snacks. Participated in the experiment 47 female students. After eating a hearty lunch, they were asked to fate 30 minutes to think about a point. Half would describe the details of the last meal, and the rest of the details related to the journey to the campus. Then all the ladies started offering cookies. Before that, however, to mask the true purpose of scientists, a taste test was carried out. Women, who thought about eating, they reached for biscuits less willingly (until Fr. 40%) than women of the fair sex who are wondering about their travels. Dr. Higgs points out, that other studies suggested, that thinking about food increases the amount of food consumed afterwards, especially in humans, who are losing weight. However, the psychologist explains the discrepancy in the obtained results. According to her, the difference is there, that her experiment was to remember a specific meal, and not on activating the general memories of food.
