Man, which was not there
A black and white film by the Coen brothers from 2001 year. The picture tells about the hairdresser Ed Cranie (Billy Bob Thornton) normal life, although it is a rather unsuccessful life. He goes to his work without enthusiasm, his wife is cheating on him, and he knows it well. "Man, which was not there "is set in the 1940s, He is inspired by interesting photos and good acting. A position worth recommending.
I had the pleasure to watch 8 Coen Brothers Videos. I would put this one in the top three, be four. There will be Big Lebowski and Fargo ahead of him. The hairdresser tale is told quite well, but I felt a certain dissatisfaction after the screening. For an almost two-hour long film, I missed it - the plot is very interesting, events sometimes overshadow absurdity, however, everything seems to be too little. Apart from such a drawback, “Man, whose… ”looks good. The Coen brothers weave their sense of humor into a fairly serious crime story, which makes it possible, that the film is easy to read and should be liked by many people.
Rating: 7/10
I liked Big Lebowski on average, and among the best Coen films I include: Barton Fink, Fargo i Hudsucker Proxy. From the newer ones, I liked No Country for Old Men. I haven't watched the movie The Man yet, which was not there.
