Father on a Business Trip - a mini review

A father on a business trip is a very real film, quite long, ordinary, more sad than cheerful. The story takes place in the early 1950s in Yugoslavia. The young boy Malik finds out, that his father is going away for a long time because of work, in fact, it is a forced departure - a punishment for an anti-state joke.

Emir Kusturica is a director known from, among others, Arizona Dream, Black cat, White cat. I'm not one of his loyal fans, for this I appreciate Kusturice for the non-repetitive style of the films she makes. Father in Business Travel is a production from the beginning of the artist's career. The climate is not as clear yet as in newer productions. Worth seeing in order to get to know the Yugoslav culture that is not so distant to us.
