Drinking non-alcoholic beer is no reason to be ashamed – thinks up 90 proc. people surveyed by the SMG / KRC Institute. Every tenth Pole associates non-alcoholic beer with pleasure and relaxation. This is what the report shows “Free choice? – Poles' attitude to alcohol-free beer”, which was presented on Wednesday in Warsaw. 40 proc. of the respondents declared, that he had been drinking non-alcoholic beer in the last six months. Young people especially reach for such beer. Almost half of the people aged 18?23 years, she chose a non-alcoholic drink in the last three months. Among people aged 24-29 years drinking non-alcoholic beer 36 proc. surveyed, and in the age range 30-35 Years – 33 proc. Beer drinkers see a non-alcoholic drink as an alternative, when they cannot drink “percent”. Beer drinkers focus on the social aspect. They admit, that thanks to the golden drink without alcohol, they can participate in situations “beer”. The car and well-being are the main reasons for replacing traditional beer with non-alcoholic beer. Every third Pole admits, that he reached for non-alcoholic beer, because he had to drive a car, and every fifth wanted to be clear of mind the next day. Non-alcoholic beer tastes the same as alcoholic beer – half of Poles thinks. Young people especially compare the flavors of these drinks. Every seventh Pole aged 18-23 years firmly agrees, that the taste of non-alcoholic beer is no different from traditional beer.
– It makes us happy, that young people more and more often choose non-alcoholic beer, who want to participate in events and meetings, and they may not always or feel like drinking traditional beer. On the one hand, the study confirms the positive attitude of Poles towards an interest-free drink, on the other hand, we are seeing an increase in people's awareness of responsible alcohol consumption – Tomasz Kanton from Kompania Piwowarska SA believes, who commissioned the study. The research was carried out in mid-July 2008 year. The answers were given by people of age 18-35 Years. The non-alcoholic beers market is estimated at 0,1 proc. share in the beer market in Poland and is characterized by an upward trend. For comparison, this percentage is in the Czech Republic 2 proc., in Germany and Hungary 3 proc., and in Spain up to 9 proc.
