Hero: 6-the year-old was driving a car, when dad passed out

The boy took the wheel from the hands of his unconscious father. The lightning-fast decision of a young child saved three people. 6-Tustin Mains, 3, and his 3-year-old brother Sunday sat in the back seat of the family pick-up truck. He and Dad Phillip were walking home from the restaurant to their home in North Platte, Nebraska. Suddenly, the frightened boys saw their father slide down onto the steering wheel. The man is diabetic and has passed out due to low blood sugar – the situation was very dangerous. Admittedly, Phillip's leg slipped off the accelerator and the car slowed, but even then it was moving at speed 16-24 km/h. Luckily there was little Tustin in the back. He quickly jumped onto his dad's lap and grabbed the steering wheel. Coming this way, they passed a few blocks. 6-the summer boy even managed to turn back, when he entered the district, which he did not recognize. Only then did the police patrol notice the car and the very young driver in trouble. The pick-up was moving slowly enough, that Constable Roger Freeze had managed to run, catch up with the car, reach in through the open window and stop the car. North Platte Police Chief, Martin Gutschenritter is full of admiration for his subordinate for quick and professional action, as well as for the heroic boy: – It is unique, young man. He was able to take quick action, when his dad passed out and we are very proud of him too. And what about Tustin? – I was afraid – he confesses honestly.

The boy was afraid, when he saw his dad “falls asleep”, he was scared, when he was driving a car and was afraid, when suddenly a policeman appeared in the car window. But even for a moment he didn't lose his composure, and when the pick-up finally stopped, was “just happy”. Bravo!
