Mariusz Pudzianowski broke the Guinness record on Wednesday in dragging a tram with passengers inside. The rehearsal took place in Wrocław as part of the event awarding the four-time strong man world champion “golden seat” in a special “Star Tram”. 30-summer Pudzianowski stretched the weight 34 tons of tram, in which it was additionally 15 people, distance 20 m. “At the very end I had spots in front of my eyes, but with a lot of effort it happens to me sometimes so I was not going to let go” – Pudzianowski said. As he explained, breaking the record was a new challenge for him. “I've never done anything like this. I used to pull a 20-ton wagon, but I was hauling the 34 ton load for the first time.” This is the first Guinness record broken by Pudzianowski, which did not rule out further attempts. “However, this requires a long preparation, and for me the most important thing now is to break a different record – winning the fifth world title.” Pudzianowski added, that he will train even during the holidays. “I will spend Christmas Eve with my parents, and from Tuesday I am starting the preparations for the next world championships again. I am organizing New Year's Eve in my restaurant, so I will actually be at work.”

Breaking the record was associated with the unveiling by Pudzianowski of a special chair in the tram called “Star Tram”. He is the third, by Kayah and Edyta Górniak, laureate of the distinction awarded by the inhabitants of Wrocław.

After the ceremony at the Pudzianowski depot, together with approx 30 fans and journalists, rode the tram through the city center. “Star Tram” is a regular vehicle of MPK Wrocław.

“Star Tram” is a joint action of the Municipal Transport Company and Radio Applause. The audience decide in a vote, which star to reward “golden armchair” in the tram.
