This year, Ash Wednesday took place exactly 6 brand. This is the beginning of Lent, who prepares all Catholics for the resurrection of the Lord. But also 6 March officially ended the carnival period, through traditional last-minute play, which falls on 5 March and lasting up to an hour 12 in the night.

On Ash Wednesday all Catholics come to church for this, to allow myself to sprinkle ash on my forehead. At this point, we also hear the most common words from priests such as "You have arisen from dust and you will turn to dust." These words are meant to remind us, that everyone is actually born with nothing and will die without anything, because you cannot take anything material with you to eternal life. Other words, which priests during this rite say that "convert and believe in the Gospel". They remind us of the essence of God's Word, that following it and bearing witness to the Gospel is our vocation.

As mentioned, Ash Wednesday - the forty-day period of Lent. During this time, Catholics make various kinds of sacrifices, for example, they don't eat meat, not eating sweets, they don't drink alcohol, but they also avoid playing. It is also advisable then to give some alms to the poor. After the end of Lent, everyone rejoices in the symbolism of the coming of the Lord Jesus as risen.
